“A princess refuses to fall in love and for opposing her father, who pressures her to marry,  she creates herself a doll, a puppet, who she can fully control, the Semolina Boy. But another princess from a distant kingdom, steals the Semolina Boy and causes the first princess to start a quest that led her to the sun, the moon and the distant stars. In this wandering, through the great pain and solitude, the princess gets to know herself and understands the deeper meaning of the existence, that is Love.”*

The “Semolina Boy”, of Alexandros Adamopoulos,  inspired by a traditional tale from Cyclades, is one of the most popular theater plays for children, in Greece. The director and choreographer, Stella Michailidou, chose to capture the supernatural elements of the play,  by using techniques from  the aerial dance and the aerial acrobacy. Thus, the moon appeared, floating, hanged from a bodrie, while the sun and the stars, on aerial tissues and aerial hoop. The “Semolina Boy”, was a production of the National Theater of Northern Greece, on 2009.
